Foldables: Arithmetric & Geometric Sequences

With a wide range of student comprehension skills, Parallel Tasks are needed. Working at different understanding levels, Students create their own arithmetic and geometric sequences on the front cover and then work out specifics identifying differences, ratios, sums, and formulas for next and nth terms inside.

Teachers can differentiate by requirements given to students. Some students may need to focus soley on their specific sequences while others may be able to incorporate tying overall all formulas, page numbers, video recordings with explanations or other activities in with the foldable. Teachers can provide formulas or require students to identify formulas.

Teachers can also set a difficulty level if needed by identifying differences and ratio limitations or requirements. For my class I opted to require that the ratio and difference was kept between 3 and 10, and had students record a ipad video explanations.

NOTE: A Teacher’s foldable example was usually need for all students to comprehend activity requirements.
